CaltransType1ARW

B3-3 Retaining Wall

This subassembly inserts a retaining wall structure based on Caltrans 2010 Standard Plan B3-3.

Attachment Point: Face

Attachment Point: Back

Attachment

This subassembly may be attached either at the Face (for cut situations) or at the Back (for fill situations).

Input Parameters

Note: All dimensions are in feet unless otherwise noted.

Parameter

Description

Type

Default

Side

Specifies to insert the subassembly either on the right or the left side of the attachment point.

Left / Right

Right

Wall Link Codes

The code which is applied to the links that makes up the wall.

String

Wall

Wall Point Codes

The code which is applied to the points that makes up the wall.

String

Wall

Footing Point Codes

The code which is applied to the points that makes up the footing.

String

Footing

Footing Link Codes

The code which is applied to the links that makes up the footing.

String

Footing

Minimum Footing Cover

For Back facing, this parameter determines the height above the footing the Elev at Face is calculated to if no Elev At Face elevation target is set.

Numeric

1.5

Attachment Point

Specifies if the attachment point is on the face of the retaining wall or the back of the retaining wall.

Target parameters

This section lists the parameters in this subassembly that can be mapped to one or more target objects, such as a surface, alignment, or profile object in a drawing. For more information, see in the AutoCAD Civil 3D User’s Guide Help.

Parameter

Description

Status

Wall Height

Is used to determine the footing dimensions. A profile needs to be created which reflects the Design Wall Height. For instance if the wall height is 4, then the profile elevation for the Wall Height would need to be 4.

Optional

Top of Footing

Used to control the elevation the top of footing is placed at.

Optional

Top of Wall

For Face Attachment, used to locate the top of wall elevation.

Optional

Elev at Face

For Back Attachment, used to override the minimum footing cover value.

Optional

Output Parameters

None.

Behavior

This subassembly is intended to provide a way to model a B3-3 Caltrans Retaining Wall. The subassembly may be inserted either on the Face of the retaining wall (exposed side) or the Back of the Retaining wall (side covered by the soil being retained). The dimensions of the footing are taken from the Wall Height Elevation Target which should reflect the Design Height of the retaining wall.

Layout Mode Operation

In layout mode the subassembly draws the retaining wall based on internal code. There is no way to adjust the dimensions.
